Day 45 - Austin, TX (Day 1)

We were up, showered, connected and on the road by 11am today.  It's a sunny day and there's a steady wind.

The grounds around the campground (it's actually a park) were very peaceful when we pulled out.  These grazing deer patiently posed for pictures.

The Route:
The 209 mile drive started in San Angelo.  We took US-87 southeast to Brady, then TX-71 through Llano to Austin.  Our Garmin GPS routed us correctly and deposited us right in front of the home of Bruce & Barbara Stevenson.

Observations:
The change to Hill Country terrain was welcome.

The 70 and 75mph speed limits around here were too much for us.  We towed at 55-65mph. Fortunately, we found places to let the faster folks go by.

There are no pictures today.

The Campground:
Without a doubt, this stop offers the best site of the trip.  The amenities are out of this world and the management is top notch.

Yes, we're staying with the Stevensons.  The trailer is parked on the street in front of their house ...  and we're not in it.
