Day 22 - Cortez, CO (Day 1)

We said goodbye to a great KOA campground and traveled 123 miles to Cortez today.

The Route:
North on US-550 to Ridgway, south on CO-62 to Placerville, south on CO-145 passed Telluride, Rico and Dolores to US-160, then west to Cortez.  We crossed two high passes (think two long, hard pulls).  We passed Sunshine Mountain and Wilson Peak.  The mountain and valley scenes were beautiful.

The Campground:
We're staying at Sundance RV Park in Cortez.  It is truly in Cortez, right on the main street.  Somehow they've made it quiet, relatively secluded and shaded.  It's very nice here.

Site #13

Tomorrow:

We're 9 miles from Mesa Verde and 39 miles from the Four Corners.  This will be a good place to do some exploring.
