It rained most of the night and continues into the morning. The weather has "dampened" our plans for the day. We're going to stay put, do some overdo shopping and maybe read a book.
Reflection:
We understand that this kind of travel doesn't work for some people. It lacks structure. Plans can and do change in a flash or on a whim ... and it's OK.
We enjoy it because of the freedom and experiences. We get to observe, experience and learn about nature, geography, history and cultures. We meet strangers from all walks of life. We've learned that "Hello" and "Where are you from?" are simple, but effective conversation starters.
Our Airstream trailer plays a big part in meeting people, too. It receives many compliments and questions like "How old is your trailer?" or "Are they still making those?". Conversations just take off from there.
This isn't something we want to do full-time. A few months a year are about right for us.
8:00pm Update:
It rained much of the day. We shopped at Walmart, then went to a movie ... "The Butler" was very good.
The day had lightened and brightened a lot by the time we got out of the movie. Here's hoping the good weather carries over to tomorrow.
